Dr. Kara Kahan and Staff strive to provide the highest quality psychiatric care for children, adolescents and adults. Our practice caters to families throughout the Houston Metropolitan area. 

Dr. Kahan has over 20 years of experience treating patients. She is Board Certified in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry.  Her areas of specialization include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety disorders, high functioning Autism, and Depressive disorders.  She uses a collaborative care approach engaging with primary care doctors, psychologists, and schools to obtain a full picture of the patient’s difficulties. 

Dr. Kahan grew up in Houston and attended The Kinkaid School. She received a B.A. from Northwestern in Psychology, and then an M.D. at the University of Texas- Houston. She did an Adult Psychiatry Fellowship at UT-Houston, followed by a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship also at UT-Houston. She has worked at Devereux in League City, Children’s Assessment Center, and as faculty at UT-Houston in the past. She is currently only seeing patients in her solo private practice.
